The White Rock Navy got started in 2009 as I prepared for the 2010 Missouri River 340 marathon canoe/kayak race. Over 100 of my friends signed up for updates and followed me as I got ready and during the race across Missouri. It was one heck of an adventure and, through the generosity of my friends, we raised $5,000.00 for relief efforts in Haiti.
In 2011 the bug bit me again and I entered the Tour du Teche. I thought this would be a bit easier, just 135 miles. But, it turned out to be much more difficult. I finished 28th out of 50 but only if you consider me finishing ahead of the 22 boats that dropped out!
