From Jeff City to Hermann

Captain Ned arrived in Jeff City to a crowd of family and many well wishers @ 1:05pm. After feasting and taking a quick 15 min. cat nap, he’s back out on the river and headed towards the Hermann checkpoint. He has 46 miles left for today and will paddle approximately 11 hours tomorrow. Navy crew member, Sharon, reports that he’s looking great and doesn’t seem to be in any great hurry!

As for me, I’m headed to LAX and logging off for the moment but will continue to keep you abreast of any and all news.

Over and out!

  1. I assume that I missed your departure and will not be able to get this to your dad but know that he is in my thoughts and prayers! We are all so proud of him taking on such an amazing challenge and are living the river journey through your blog! I hope this can be a spiritual experience for your dad as he experiences the wilderness of the river. It is in the wilderness that we are closest to God!

    GO NED!

  4. So glad to hear that the race is “sailing” right along. Bet you wish you had a sail….HAHAHA! Like I’ve said before, you are an inspiration.

Oh yea, Carl, Chevelle, Terrance and even Herb said to keep up the good work! We are all praying for your safe trip and can’t wait to hear all about it!
